Getting started with ProptechOS

Your data belongs to you and ProptechOS has no claim to it, neither for its own use or someone else’s. You access your RealEstateCore data via the ProptechOS API to use it in the analytics environment. If you decide to leave, you can take your data with you.

What do I need?

Different use-cases or applications will need different inputs. For ProptechOS itself you will not need anything in particular. It is cloud-based Software-as-a-Service.

ProptechOS does not require modern or new buildings. It is designed to scale to entire portfolios, and portfolios vary in technology and data maturity. However, some use-cases might mean upgrading aging systems or retrofitting buildings with modern wireless sensors.

Real-time telemetry and control

For use-cases centered around high granularity telemetry, ProptechOS will connect to devices and sensors on-site. In a modern buildings this will likely mean using an existing software RealEstateCore connector, securely communicating over the Internet. In an older building, getting real-time telemetry might mean installing a physical ProptechOS gateway or retrofitting with modern sensors. At the very least, you need to know what system or devices that are installed in your buildings and have sufficient access for a connection to ProptechOS to be configured.

Visualization

For 3D and 2D visualization, ProptechOS need a blueprint or digital model to create a visual digital twin. ProptechOS has native import functionality for BIM (.ifc files) and CAD (.dwg files) resources. For other applications, a list or table of buildings or rooms will be sufficient. In some cases, the building data can be inferred from e.g. a BMS system.

High level energy and ESG

Many ESG reporting and energy analysis applications do not need real-time fine grained data. Access to the utility provider API or a data export will be sufficient for valuable aggregate analysis.

Tenant experience and analytics

Presence data can be gathered from systems already installed in your building, like the HVAC, smart lighting or access control system. In the absence of a system with presence sensors, there are multiple ProptechOS partners who can install high precision and cost efficient sensors. In addition, a registry of tenants and the rooms and buildings they lease will make it possible to analyze and graphically visualize their utilization and occupancy.

How do I get started?

Sign up for ProptechOS and familiarize yourself with the product with the integrated User guides. ProptechOS comes loaded with demo data and synthetic devices. The User guides cover the three steps of setting up ProptechOS for your use case.

1. Create Digital Twins

Create digital twins of buildings and devices. Import blueprint files and device taglists, or manually create them in the user interface.

2. Connect Digital Twins

Connect your digital twins in ProptechOS to physical edge devices and data sources. Ready-to-use RealEstateCore edge connectors allow safe connection and enable two-way communication between systems and ProptechOS. Configure the edge connector and input your credentials to connect ProptechOS with your building data.

3. Use Apps on your Digital Twins

Choose among certified apps for Energy and ESG, Tenant experience or Operational efficiency. Configure the appropriate access for each application.
